Vy: "The drama unfolds"

"The training was over and all the candidates cleared this with flying colors. Based on seniority, Dhrit had to announce Yudhi as the next in line for the CEO position despite his own personal preference for his mentee Duryodhan. Duryodhan wanted to get rid of Yudhi and become CEO himself and he was ready to go to any extreme to make this happen. Thus started a series of political game that was to entertain and teach generations of leaders to come.

Duryodhan convinced Dhrit to lease more office space and move Yudhi s team there. Duryodhan had hatched a plan to get this office as a logistical nightmare for Yudhi that Yudhi and team decided to take a a sabbatical to figure out their next steps, rather secretively.

They learn of a major merger happening with the great leader Dru Pad with his organization. Meanwhile, universe works in wonderful ways, in this case, in the form of a well wisher consultant and coach, Vasudev  Krishna whose powers of persuasiveness and influence were unmatched. He was able to influence Team Dru Pad to join forces with Team Pandav

Mergers are often decided as matters of the heart than head. It is said that the stakeholders decide if the merge should happen in the first few minutes of their interaction depending on the likeability of either teams. In this case, Team Dru Pad wanted to be merged with Team Pandav, especially impressed with the goal oriented and immensely competent Arjun in their team.  The M&A head Miss Krishnaa Dru was ready to risk legal suits by openly declining an offer from eligible companies with unmatched talent citing the reason that they belonged to minority group.  This is just the beginning of how a lack of inclusivity costs the Team Pandav everything.

Thus the merger happened and Team Pandav got back to active work and set around to get things moving in the company in their business unit. It was decided that in order to keep things competitive yet productive with the right kind of accountability that the Team Pandav will now exclusively handle the business unit of Indraprasth. Pandav moved and made stellar growth.

It was around this time of expansion and amazing business growth that Yudhi and team decided to move to a new office as their official headquarters. He employed the visionary architect Maya Danav to design and build a state of the art office headquarters. Maya was way ahead of his times and created a metaverse space for the leaders to relay stories of advancement.

Yudhi's team invited Duryodhan and team for a visit. It  took them quite some time to figure out  the logistics and movement. The VR headsets were also super advanced and ahead of its time. Duryodhan struggled traversing and commuting within the metaverse space and this made Yudhi's team very happy.

He struggled to differentiate the physical reality(well, if you can say that)  and the virtual reality. While Yudhi was extremely strict about nurturing core values and being inclusive, his team and board members were not so inclusive. Miss Dru laughed out loud seeing how clumsy Duryodhan was. She laughed uninhibited in the absence of Yudhi and shouted out a very discriminatory retort “ The mentor (she meant Dhrit) and mentee(Duryodhan) are both ignorant “ . This was an extremely harmful retort as we will see as the story unfolds would shake the very foundation of the Great Bharat Consulting org."

Vy continues:

Culture of a company forms its DNA. Culture is about what the teams in the org or  the children of the family do when there are no leaders/parents present to explicitly dictate the right thing to do in a certain scenario. The guideline of the core values for the team member of an org or the children of the family serves as their reminder to decide and act in situations. This promotes decentralized decision making and the subsequent growth of next level leaders within the organization. Culture shapes itself on the ground based on the good behaviors that get rewarded and the bad behavior that gets tolerated. The actions and choices of Miss Dru and the rest of the top leaders in the Pandav team were going to have far reaching consequences to the Corporate landscape than what they would have imagined at the time."

Corporate Kshetra

Corporate Kshetra is a corporate satire written in the form of a multi-part series. The characters and the stories from the epic Mahabharat  are transformed and fitted into the corporate world to continue to give valuable lessons but mostly to tickle my artistic bones. Part 1:  https://deepthig.blogspot.com/2023/02/corporate-kshetra-part-1.html Part 2:  https://deepthig.blogspot.com/2023/11/corporate-kshetra-episode-2.html Part 3: Taking shape Part 4: Inception Disclaimer: This is a work of pure fiction and a figment of my imagination. Any resemblance to anyone you know is a figment of yours. Acknowledgement: And yes, very much inspired by  " The Great Indian Novel" by Shashi Tharoor which I read almost 2 decades ago  and  " The Difficulty of Being Good " by Gurcharan Das   which I read a year ago and The Mahabharat TV series on Doordarshan which I watched 30 years ago and re-watched during  Covid Lockdown.
